I'm Dr Sarah Pearson

HISTORIAN AND GENEALOGIST

I founded Ancestral Journeys to share my passion for family history with you. I have a PhD in History and am an Associate of the Association for Genealogists and Researchers in Archives (AGRA).

My Ancestral Journey

My fascination with family stories began during my childhood, as I listened to my grandparents share tales of when they were young.

As I pieced together fragments of my own family’s history, I honed my research skills, mastering the art of tracking down ancestors and deciphering handwritten records. It was this experience that led me to further my studies in history, enrolling upon a Masters and then a PhD.

My passion for the history of families led me to establish my own genealogy company. Join my quest to discover the stories that define you, celebrating the triumphs, trials, and connections that link us across time.

My Research Process

How I Work

Whether you have a question you need answered, or you’ve a more general curiosity about your family’s origins, there is a way to rediscover your family stories.

Agree a research plan

We will work together to clarify your goals, expectations, and the scope of the project. We’ll discuss what you already know about your family history, any questions you want to answer, and your areas of interest. We’ll also agree a timeline and budget.

Research and analyse

I will collect information from documents, online databases, and interviews. I’ll analyze the gathered data, cross-referencing to ensure accuracy. I’ll start piecing together your family tree, tracing ancestral lines, and uncovering stories and connections. I will report back to you on my progress at the times agreed with you.

Deliver my findings

I will compile all the collected data, stories, and visuals into a report, providing citations for all sources and including family trees, maps, and timelines. I’ll maintain open communication with you, sharing updates and seeking feedback to ensure that the final result meets your expectations.
